Best Point and Shoot Camera under $500

Panasonic Lumix ZS100

Panasonic offers a great selection of point-and-shoot cameras, including the Lumix ZS100. This is an adaptable tiny camera with excellent image quality, a plethora of helpful functions, and high-quality video recording.

It features a 20.1 MP sensor as well as optical image stabilization. This means you can capture sharp, vibrant photographs while handholding in a variety of situations.

The high-quality Leica DC Vario-Elmarit lens is another plus. With a comparable focal length of 25-250mm, you can capture everything from wide-angle landscape images to close-up wildlife shots.

The Lumix ZS100 is also capable of superb video recording. It can capture 4K/30 FPS footage, making it ideal for trip vlogging. The Lumix ZS100 lacks a rotatable touchscreen, but it does have a lens-mounted control ring. This is quite useful for changing exposure settings while shooting.

Panasonic Lumix ZS60

If you like the look and features of the Lumix ZS100 but don’t want to spend that much money, the Panasonic Lumix ZS60 is a good option. It’s a bit older model, but it still has some fantastic features and is of high quality.

The Panasonic Lumix ZS60 only takes 18 MP photos. It can, however, record 4K video at 30 frames per second, just like the ZS100. It also features the same lens-mounted control ring, which we enjoy. As a result, you may easily modify the exposure settings without having to navigate through menus or dials.

In addition, the Lumix ZS60 incorporates an electronic viewfinder and a touchscreen. The touchscreen cannot be rotated or altered in any manner, but it does provide good image previews and easy menu navigation.

The lens is a Leica DC Vario-Elmarit with a 30x optical zoom. This amounts to a 24-720mm effective focal length. As a result, it is one of the greatest point-and-shoot cameras with a super-telephoto zoom lens on the market. It has a far greater range than the ZS100. The design is straightforward, and the camera is small enough to put in your pocket.

Canon PowerShot SX720 HS

The PowerShot SX720 HS has a 20.2 MP sensor that produces crisp photographs with few artefacts. The lens features 25x optical zoom, giving it a superb focal length range of 25-625mm. Wide-angle landscapes can be captured at 25mm; portraits can be captured at 50mm, and super-telephoto shots of wildlife and birds can be captured at 100mm.

This camera’s appearance and design are also excellent. It comes in a variety of bright colours and has a tough exterior. It’s also very portable, so it could make an excellent trip camera.

Panasonic Lumix LX10

The Panasonic Lumix LX10 is another excellent point-and-shoot camera for around $500, with a few unique features like as an LCD touchscreen that can be turned and pushed upward. Because you can see a live preview while filming, it’s ideal for selfies and vlogging.

The LX10 also takes excellent photographs! It has a 20.1 MP sensor with image stabilization built-in. This means you can capture consistently clear shots while avoiding camera shake, even while handholding in low light.

The lens is a Leica DC Vario-SU 24-72mm lens with a maximum aperture range of f/2.8 to f/8.8 and, while not as long as the ZS0 and ZS100, it’s ideal for general-purpose photography.

The Canon PowerShot ELPH 180 is a sleek camera with simple controls and a high-quality image sensor. It’s one of Canon’s more recent PowerShot models, with a 20 MP CMOS sensor for crisp, high-contrast photographs.

Because of the optical picture stabilization, you may use this camera handheld in a variety of settings. The lens has an equivalent focal length range of 28-224mm for a mix of wide-angle and telephoto images.

The Canon PowerShot ELPH 180 also offers a clever auto-shooting mode for inexperienced photographers. This employs AI technology and real-time analysis to select the ideal settings for the current scene. As a result, you may shoot high-quality images without having to learn concepts like aperture and exposure.

This small camera’s design is very appealing to us. It weighs only 9.8 oz/277 g and is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand or a pocket. The Canon PowerShot ELPH 180 is a good choice if you want a basic point-and-shoot camera that can produce exceptional image quality with no technical understanding.

Panasonic Lumix FZ300

If you want a larger point-and-shoot camera, consider the Panasonic Lumix FZ300, which is both durable and capable of producing high-quality photographs.
